Music
Bhangra is one of the main Punjabi music and dance forms that is increasingly listened by people livingin western Asia and is becomig a mainstream favourite. Punjabi music is mixed with other compositions to produce award winning music.

Kuldeep Manak was born as Latif Mohammed Khan and he was a noted Punjabi muscian and singer of Indian Punjab. He was known for singing a rare genre of punjabi music , Kali and was often called king of kali .His main instrument was tumbi . He was born in Jalal, Bathinda district Punjab . He made his debut in 1973 with album TERI KHATAR HEERE released by HMV records but in 1976 the track released EKTARA put him with foots tall with greatest artist in musical history . Many singers paid tribute to him like Gurdas Maan in his song '' PIND DIYAN GALLIYAN'' with line '' MANAK HADD MUKA GAYA NAVIYAAN KALIYAAN DI '' . The legend died on 30 November 2011 when he was claimed dead due to ling infection in DMC HOSPITAL LUDHIANA.
Surinder Kaur was an Indian singer –songwriter while , she mainly sang Punjabi Folk songs,where she is credited for pioneering and popularising the music genre . She was born on 25 November 1929,Died on June 15TH 2006.She was named nightingale of Punjab . She received her musical education from a college in Lahore . She made her professional debut with a live performance on Lahore Radio in August 1943 and returned Indian Subcontinent in 1945 . She was also awarded Padma Shri in year 2006 by Government of India
Waris Brothers also known as Heer brothers represents the significance of stricking a chord with their audience and sticking to it .They stayed true to their cultural roots and kept their sound drenched in folk music . They are well known for the mixing of tumbi music with western instruments . waris brothers are behind the formulation of Punjabi Virsa shows all over the world. These shows have become Internationally famous.
4. DIDAR SINGH SANDHU
Didar Singh Sandhu was born on July 3, 1942 IN SARGODHA DISTRICT of British India. He was the youngest of five brothers in his family . He was born as a ‘’LEGEND’’ as he started singing at age of 6.His main instruments were Tumbi and Chimta . He also took political responsibility by contesting elections of Panchayati Raj and served as Sarpanch of Bharowal Khurd. He died on 16 Feburary 1991 (aged 48) in Ludhiana
5. LALCHANDYAMLA JATT
He was born on 28 march in 1914 at Lylapur district of Pakistan .He was also known as ustaad ji .Hemade tumbi worldwide popular.He even composed new tunes on it.Ustaad ji sang many popular song like “DAS MAIN KI PYAAR VICHON KHATTYA ” and “SATGURU NANAK TERI LEELA NAYAAARI AE”.he also performed with legend Alam Lohar.His music has been sampled by Punjabi MC on his best selling bhangra album “legalized”.He died on 20th December 1991 in Ludhiana.
6. ALAM LOHAR
He was born in 1928 in Gujarat.His instrument was chimta,he made Chimta famous all over the world.He sang many folk songs like “JUGNI”,”BOL MITTI DEYA” etc.one of his sons Arif Lohar followed tradition of his father .He was also known as Shere-E-Punjab.He died on 3 July 1979(aged 51) .
7.ASA SINGH MASTANA
He was born on 22 august 1927.His main instrument were Chimta and Tumbi.He was also singing partner of Surinder Kaur.His well known songs are :-“BALLE NI PUNJAB DIYE SHER BACHIYE”,”KALI TERI GUT”etc.The legend died on 23 may 1999(aged 71).
